Teeth Whitening
To accommodate patient differences, and to allow greater access to having white teeth, we offer 3 different ways to brighten the color of your teeth.
- In-Office Whitening with the Zoom light is the most popular, dramatic, and rapid way to whiten your teeth. A light-activated gel is applied and the Zoom light is directed at the anterior teeth for three 20-minute intervals. For patient comfort and safety, the teeth are isolated from the surrounding gums, cheeks, and lips, and the entire process requires about 2 hours. Please call our office for seasonal special offers on Zoom Whitening.
- Custom Whitening Trays made specifically for the teeth are a very efficient and comfortable alternative for the person who wishes to do their whitening at home. A whitening gel is placed in the trays which are then inserted in the mouth overnight. A change in tooth color normally occurs within 1-2 weeks.
- Whitening Strips are the simplest and most inexpensive method to whiten your teeth. Plastic strips containing a concentrated whitening agent are placed over the teeth for 30 minute intervals several times a day. Significant lightening normally occurs in 2-3 weeks.
Zoom™ is a "state-of-art" bleaching system designed to be used with the latest technology available to your dentist. Specifically, the Zoom™ Light Activated Whitening System is used with a dental laser, plasma arc light, or other high-intensity light source to accelerate the bleaching process and provide results only available through the professional care of your dentist.
A Brighter Smile
Patients with mild tooth discoloration can experience optimal results often within one chairside application. Patients with more severe tooth staining can expect positive results using a combination of both the Zoom™ chairside and contrastp.m. "take home" applications. Many patients will experience a delayed whitening effect. The hydrogen peroxide can continue to whiten well after the procedure is complete. The teeth may appear whiter the following day.
