Dr. Grant F Shimizu, a third generation native of San Jose, attended UC Davis, and the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco before starting his dental practice in 1980. Key training institutes that have shaped his treatment repertoire are PAC-Live of San Francisco, the Pankey Institute in Florida, the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Implant Surgery training with Dr. Lawrence Lum of UCSF, and the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry of Santa Clara County. These dental facilities provide postgraduate education in Cosmetic, TMJ, Implant, and Laser therapies.
Outside of the office, Dr. Shimizu enjoys playing guitar with a local jazz ensemble and a folk band. His other interests include fly fishing, racquetball, golf, backpacking, and an occasional attempt at a new gourmet recipe.
